Lake Greenwood real estate is still a hot commodity! This is a NON-Corp controlled, man-made, recreational lake that was created between 1935-1940 by the construction of the Buzzard’s Roost Dam near Chappells, SC.  Lake Greenwood is approximately 11,400 acres, and 20+ miles long with 212 miles of shoreline. It is one of the major draws to the State of South Carolina besides our beaches. The lake spans 3 surrounding counties, Newberry, Laurens and Greenwood, with Greenwood being the county seat.
